Brands belonging to Mecalux Group
In December 2005, the Mecalux group exercised its purchase option on 100% of the shares of Esmena, entailing the integration of both companies in a single common project. This is a strategic operation which enables the consolidation and extension of the range of products (as both companies complement each other with their range of products and services) and the consolidation of the different markets in Latin America, Europe and the USA. The new group is now the third storage systems supplier in the world with an advantageous position in all markets backed by 11 production plants in 6 countries, and a commercial presence in 16 countries. Moreover, the Group's workforce now totals more than 3,000 employees.
In March 2009 MECALUX formalized the purchase of assets from the companies UFC Interlake Holding Co., United Fixtures Company Inc., Interlake Material Handling Inc. and Conco-Tellus Inc. Through this acquisition Mecalux will count with 3 operative plants on this market in addition to the 2 plants it already has in the area (Chicago and Mexico) which allows Mecalux to very effectively cover the complete U.S. and Mexico territory. With this transaction, the MECALUX group will grow from 8 existing production plants to 11 plants in total, making it one of the world leaders for capacity and technology dedicated to storage. UFC Interlake Holding Co. has historically been the market leader in the United States of America for net sales and technology. With this opportunity, MECALUX will acquire the customer base of UFC Interlake Holding Co., including the major companies in the United States of America, and this will allow MECALUX to develop on the American market and provide the best possible services to these customers in the rest of the international markets.
